Oliver Kahn.

Today’s Goal Monday isn’t so much a goal as it is a game, but we’re sure you’ll love it anyway. On Matchday 5 of the 1999/2000 Bundesliga season, a little bit of true football madness went down.

As Kris (who by now is an honorary Rekordmeister submitter) suggested this, here’s her short description of what went down for those who don’t speak auf Deutsch: “Kuffour knocked out Kahn, then Dreher twisted his knee. Left back Tarnat had to go in goal and the game ended with Kuffour scoring the winner goal.”

Pretty crazy if you ask us.

Here is a special version of FC Bayern, Forever Number One that was performed live before Oliver Kahn lifted the championship trophy after his final game for FCB.

Oliver Kahn’s farewell song

2000/01. FC Bayern München won Europe’s top club competition for the first time in 25 years, with cool heads in the penalty shootout ensuring that Ottmar Hitzfeld’s side got the better of Valencia CF, runners-up for a second season in a row.
