Danijel Pranjic and Croatia had a good day on Sunday. Though Pranjic never left the bench, Croatia pulled off a 3-1 win over the Republic of Ireland, bringing them to the top of Group C, ahead of Spain and Italy. Good luck Danijel!

Rekordmeister’s Top 25 Players of the Season 2011-2012
#23 - Danijel Pranjić.
There is no more appropriate #23 than our own #23: Mr. Danijel Pranjić. Pranjić has had a tough season, but he’s one of the most reliable players Bayern has had at their disposal. He may not have the flair of Kroos or the prestige of Schweinsteiger, but his versatility has been an important asset to Bayern. We wish him the best of luck for his future, whether he goes to Everton or China. Thank you for your service, Pranjić. You will always be the carrot in our salad.

Danijel Pranjic is on the verge of a transfer to China. He’d be making €11m for 2.5 years, have the house of his choice, and a personal driver. His wife only needs to agree to the transfer and the contract will be signed after the Champions League final.

Bayern Munich’s official website is reporting that Danijel Pranjic will be involved in a swap deal for Real Madrid winger Cristiano Ronaldo. The 30 year old Croatian international is looking forward to the move to Spain and is excited to be playing alongside former Bayern teammate Hamit Altintop, a leading star for Los Blancos.

Ronaldo himself is said to be looking forward to joining the German record champions. He has told Madrid press that he cannot wait to play alongside Mario Gomez and that he has already gone house hunting in Schwabing, an area in northern Munich.

The men will make their swap at the end of the season. Both will leave their supply of hair gel as a welcome gift to the other.

Danijel Pranjic furious with Bayern Munich after Everton move collapses

bastianschweinsteiger-obsession:

Croatia international Danijel Pranjic has expressed his anger with Bayern Munich, after his proposed move to Everton on transfer deadline day fell through due to the Bavarian club’s demands.

The former Heerenveen midfielder had already agreed personal terms with the Premier League side, but the deal collapsed after the teams failed to agree on a transfer fee.

“It’s hard to describe the negative feelings I am currently experiencing,” Pranjic said to Sportske Novosti.

“I had reached an agreement with a contract until June 2014, but Bayern demanded a fee that no club would have paid.

“I was convinced that I was on my way out of Bayern, and I’m very disappointed with what’s happened. I don’t get any playing time here, and I’ve been denied the chance to move to the Premier League. I’m very unhappy,” he fumed.

The 30-year-old’s contract at Bayern is expiring, and he recently stated that he will leave the club on a Bosman this summer.

This is all very upsetting and we are disappointed in Rummenigge for blocking his transfer. We wish him the best of luck this summer when he leaves the club for free, as he should have months ago. Hopefully we will see him in the Premier League next season.

Danijel Pranjic: Root Vegetable or Underrated Winger?
He has been the butt of more jokes than Hans-Jörg, the source of great despair among most fans (and Franck Ribéry), and is the sole reason for Bastian Schweinsteiger’s premature gray hair. Danijel Pranjic. In his three years with the Bavarian giants he has made just 50 appearances and scored one goal, but has had his fair share of highs and lows. He recently confirmed that he will be leaving Allianz Arena at the end of this season, so now is as good of a time as any to pay homage to the Croatian starlet.
This season, the out of favor….winger…no, left-back….no, defensive midfielder…………..player has made a grand total of two appearances, and has even played for the amateur squad, though fully fit (and even that wasn’t a full match). Probably his most memorable moment of the season is being subbed on in the 90th minute, only for the whistle to blow before he could even touch the ball. His downward spiral began as soon as dear Jupp Heynckes took over. It quickly became clear that the 30-year-old was as important to the coach as those dustbags that come with designer bags.
Now Pranjic is a good guy, and the overwhelming hatred or disdain for the man is unwarranted. Sure, he doesn’t have the talent that other squad members have, and he may not be able to make as big of an impact on the game, (what do you expect, he’s like 4’11”) but his attitude is what makes him a good player, despite all his shortcomings. In his 2 years, 7 months, and 15 days at the club, give or take, he has been shuffled from the bench, to the defensive back four, to the front wing, todefensive midfield. He’s been everywhere except goal, it seems. (Though don’t quote me on that bit, the 2010-2011 season is kind of fuzzy). If there was ever an injury, Pranjic was, and for the remainder of the season is, your man. Up until this season, he has never complained about being on the bench (and surely now he has reason to complain, with staying match fit for his national team being a huge priority), and he has never criticized anyone, be it the coach or his fellow teammates, for his constant switching of positions. He’s a good player, much like Andi Ottl, but he’s not great, and he lacks the quality to be a success at Bayern.
Let’s put it this way…
Put Pranjic in a salad. He wouldn’t be the bed of leafy greens that provide the foundation (That’d be your defense of Neuer, Rafinha, Boateng, Badstuber, and Lahm). He wouldn’t be mozzarella or Parmesan cheeses that changes it from a simple bowl of lettuce to a bomb ass salad (That’s your midfield duo of Schweinsteiger and Kroos). He’s not even the bacon bits or the croutons that compliment the other components (Ribery, Müller, Robben), and by no means is he the balsamic vinaigrette, which provides that spicy kick and completes the perfect salad (that’s our torschützenkönig Mario). So where does this leave Pranjic? Well, he’s the carrot. Everyone avoids them, eating around them, pushing them to the side. No one wants to be the one stuck with the root vegetable. It’s not bad, but it’s not good, and we just don’t have room in our salad bowl for mediocre carrots when we could have tasty things like pepperoncinis (Dries Merten) or tomatoes (Xherdan Shaqiri).
So long, Danijel Pranjic. We still have many months left in the season, many games to play, three competitions still to compete in, but we wish to say our adieus now, for it will be much too difficult come June. Though the chances of him getting a final chance to shine under the bright lights of Allianz are slim, we’ll never forget those 82,857,600 seconds he has spent as our #23. And his game against Nürnberg ages ago was pretty sweet too.
