Jörg Butt resigns as manager of the FCB junior team
The club confirmed that former goalkeeper Hans-Jörg Butt resigned from his new position as manager of the club’s youth section.
Butt: “I’m honest with myself and the club: I misjudged the job I took over a couple of weeks ago. I was very excited to take over as new manager of the youth ranks but had to realize that this task doesn’t give me the satisfaction and passion I had hoped for. That’s why I decided to resign. I thank the club for the understanding.”
Karl-Heinz Rummenigge says that Butt’s resignation surprised them a lot: “Jörg Butt is a straightforward and consistent person so we will accept his decision, even if we regret it.”
Butt took over as new manager of the so-called junior team only a month ago, replacing Werner Kern. His successor (if there’ll be one) has not been announced yet.
